To Turku (Finland) from Stockholm (Sweden)
Baltic Sea at Sun Set
The Turku Cathedral
This journey begins from Linkoping, a middle-scale city in Sweden. I was there for a partnership training programme of my Company, IFS. While we are on Sweden, fortunately there were few friends of mine who carrying out their researches at University of Turku (Finland), for their Masters Degree. Luckily my time on Sweden and their time on Finland crossed making a chance us to meet.
We took a Metro service (Bus) from Linkoping to Stockholm for local travelling in Sweden. The journey takes almost three hours to reach Stockholm. We got into the cruise ship called Amorella (At famous Viking Line cruise ship service between Finland-Sweden-Estonia across the Baltic Sea) at about 18:00. Since we choose the night crossing, we couldn't see any landscapes during the sailing route. But we walk inside the ship for few hours and then went back to our cabins. The route basically from Stockholm (Sweden) to Mariehamn (the Capital of Aland) and then to Turku (Finland).
Amorella - A Cruise Ferry
It was about 06:30 in the morning when we arrive to the Turku port. One of my friends came to the port to welcome us and we met another friend of mine at Turku City Center ( called Kauppatori in Finnish). It was a long time pass since we all last met. And it was an unbelievable time to meet old friends somewhere out the country again.
Then we took a bus to the Turku University where my friends doing their studies. We went to see their class rooms and walk around the university for a while. Then we went to their apartments where three of our friends live. There were few of our senior university mates also which all of them doing their Masters. They welcome us very warmly and after having some snack and drink, all six of us went to see the Turku Castle.

The Turku Cathedral
There were so many great stuff that we have only saw in films. It takes nearly four hours at least to walk through the castle, even just neglecting some exhibiting areas. I should say that here, we hardly observe that how much effort they put on work to preserve their limited history, than a historic country like ours.
Then we had our lunch outside the castle. Our senior sisters had prepared lunch at their apartments and brought them with us. It was a delicious meal, in Sri Lankan way. Then we went to see the Turku Church. It was the biggest church I have ever seen.
Then we came back to our senior sisters' apartment. We celebrated my friends, duminda's, birthday and play cards (304) while having some tea. Then we went back to my friend's apartment for spend the night. In the morning, we woke-up and went to catch the ship on back journey to Stockholm. Our friends had prepared some food to take with us while we are sailing return.
We said good bye to our friends and got into Amorella ship and started our return journey. It was a great experience. Ship sails through small small islands slowly 2/3 of the journey. Then it came to the deep sea.
At about 18:00, we came to Stockholm. Then we took the metro bus to Linkoping. At the Linkoping bus station, Vituna and Isuru waiting at the Linkoping bus station for us. They take us back to our apartments. The End
