"Dunhinda Odyssey" new train to celebrate 100 years of train journey between Colombo and Badulla
On April 5, 2024, Udarata Menike Badulla service was completed for a century. To celebrate this long-lasting train service, the Sri Lanka Railways Department launched a new luxury train named “Dunhinda Odyssey“. This train journey has held a proud moment from 1924 to the present and taken us through beautiful waterfalls, mountains, grasslands, and tea plantations. It’s an awesome journey to Badulla through the misty climate, passing through the Demodara, Ohia, Ella, Bandarawela, and Nine Arch Bridge (Arukku Namaya Palama).
Dunhinda Odyssey train ticket price
There will be passenger service on the Dunhinda Odyssey, with tickets priced at LKR 8,000. The train has three second-class cabins, one third-class cabin with a restaurant, and four cabins with forty-four (44) seats each. All the seats are reserved only.
Dunhinda Odyssey train schedule
This train will depart from Colombo Fort at 6.30 AM and arrive in Badulla at 5.37 PM. Also, it will depart from Badulla at 8.00 AM and arrive in Colombo Fort at 6.51 PM.
