St Clair Falls is situated in the Talawakele region of the Nuwara Eliya District. This captivating waterfall originates from Kothmale Oya, a tributary of the Mahaweli River. The waterfall derives its name from St. Clair's tea estate, as it elegantly flows through the lush tea plantation, producing a breathtaking scene.

How to visit St Clairs Falls?

Travellers going on the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya road may easily view the waterfall as it flows over two rocks into a large pool. This is creating a producing a magnificent pool at the valley's end. The first and second falls, lying below sea level, are 1060 meters above sea level and may be viewed from the upcountry railway when you travel to Badulla.

This prevents the falls from drying up completely and provides a steady flow of water for public viewing.
